How many years must one attend high school before graduating? If you are a college graduate, how many years did you spend there before you got your “degree”?

Since there is no “MLM School”, that means it’s up to you. You are the one responsible for sorting through all the information available to determine what is useful. You are the one who gives the lesson plan to yourself. You are the one who who tests your own progress.

Some people spend years trying to figure out how to make MLM work for them, while others only give it a few month or so. I will say that if you gave your business at least the same amount of time you gave high school and/or college, with a laser focus on finding the truth about MLM, you have no other choice than to win at it.

You are constantly being sold on “how-to’s” but somewhere in that learning, you get overwhelmed and quit. Give yourself a shot at learning. This business is simple, but not necessarily easy.

Did you know that faith comes from “hearing” and not by anything else. You can read something all day and still not have faith in it.

To believe and have faith in something, including yourself, you must HEAR the ideas of that something. In other words, if you want to be wealthy, you must SPEAK it, so that your ears HEAR it. What you hear sends a powerful signal to the brain where the information it just received is evaluated. Hint: don’t let your EYES mess you up. Your eyes can’t SEE your wealth yet. So it will try to tell your brain that there is no wealth!

Once your brain processes that what it received is correct, then another signal is sent to your heart. This is where your real belief comes from, your heart.

So, to receive whatever it is that you desire, you must speak on it, hear it, process it as truth and then feel or BELIEVE that it is yours. Your WORDS are the architects of your life!

This morning, I was having a conversation with a close relative who is also in MLM. He was telling me how he really enjoys our training and mentoring sessions and wanted to use the system with the leads that he BUYS! WHoaaaa! Stop the presses! He still desires to buy leads?

Friends, here is the problem with buying leads and I really want you to wrap this around your brain. It’s critical.

When you buy a lead, regardless of the source, the prospect has NOT taken any sort of action. They have not indicated that they are even remotely serious. All they did was fill out an online form. No big deal to them. These prospects mainly are kicking tires, looking to see what’s out there and actually not even willing to move in the direction of becoming a business owner. That makes you find ways to “sell” them, which we all know is not what network marketing is about.

However, once you learn how to generate your own leads, through a simple simple system, your prospects will come to you only after taking a specific action and requesting to know more. Now your job is that of a consultant. Now you are in a position to help this person. Now you are networking with someone who wants your help to achieve the success they desire.

Do you see the difference? Buying leads makes you “sell” people which doesn’t work and can not be duplicated. Generating your own leads allow you to help people who have already raised their hand. That type of system can be duplicated.

Moral of the story…Stop buying leads! They are not helping you, they’re just costing you!

The final way I will write about to simply build your MLM downline is through the use of downline builders. Downline builders might cost you a minimal fee in turn for the guarantee that you will grow your downline.

Downline builders utilize traffic exchanges where signing up is free. The fee that may be required will be for the reports that get generated. A few traffic exchanges that I recommend are Profit Rally, AdlandPro and Traffic Hoopla but there are many more as well. In fact, there are numerous networkers who have gained downlines through traffic exchanges.

If this is an option that you like, just be sure to make sure the program is one that fits your preferences.

Another free way to build your MLM downline is by joining forums. Networking forums have various topics of interest and I’m sure you will find a specific one you like.

These are friendly places to associate and network with other business owners and like-minded people. You can get advice and learn from MLM top earners from almost every company!

Forums have a signature line in your posts that allow you to link readers to your site or other URL. This is a major resource to promote you!

One of the most visited forums is The Warrior Forum. Here the people are those who like and love internet marketing and generating income from home. Many long-term relationships can be fostered here. No matter what, remember to enjoy yourself in these forums, while you work on building your MLM downline.

Since network marketing (mlm) is a training and coaching business and not a sales business, you have to identify with your prospect. You must have some sort of idea about how they think, how they work and how they learn. If you can master the 4 types of personalities, you can recruit like crazy!

There are 4 colors associated with each of the 4 personalities; yellow, blue, green and red.

A yellow personality is more of your nurturing type like nurses and UN workers.
A blue is more of your salesy type person whose brain and thoughts move 1000 miles/min.
A green is your person who analyzes everything…you know, like paralysis of analysis.
A red personality is more like your corporate CEO where it’s either their way or no way at all.

Once you start recognizing these qualities in your prospects, you will be able to serve them much better and with understanding.

By working with Michael, I have grown from novice network marketer, to a highly skilled business owner. One of the best and most cost effective ways to build an MLM downline is to have your own website. This allows you to build trust and credibility with your target audience.

Through your site, you can discuss solutions to problems that your target market struggles with. You can offer them resources such as more reading or audios. You should also add a feature that allows you to capture the visitors contact info so that you can send them information about your products and services.

Every leader needs a website.

If your budget is limited, you can start a free blog site that will give you a powerful internet presence.

But, if you have somewhat of an advertising stash, you can create a site that the search engines love with favored SE content, greatly increasing your site’s page ranking as well.

Lots of people say they have goals. But most of them never achieve them. Here are a few tips on goals and achieving them:

• Write them down. Research shows that people who “see” their goals everyday achieve them more so than those who just think about them
• Create goals that allow you to grow out of your comfort zone. Reach for the stars. Many live life comfortably in the same box they’ve always been in. Step outside, the weather’s great!
• Select a specific date that you plan to have reached the goal. Without a time frame, the goal can’t be measured.
• Be committed. It’s your goal, so it needs your support. Don’t give up on what you want. YOU deserve it anyway!
• Reward yourself upon goal completion. State what reward you will grant yourself for attaining your desired goal. We all love rewards for our successes. Don’t short change yourself. Plan that next vacation!

For an exercise, jot down your goals for the next 90 days and the next year. Don’t forget to give yourself a prize for a job well done.
