Before the doctor became a doctor, she always dreamed of wearing that white coat. From as early as she could remember, being a doctor would soothe her soul. So, she completed elementary and high schools and of course 4 years of college. Whew! But being a doctor required more work and training. So she continued for another 4 years of med school and another 1 or 2 of residency. When she looked back over her schooling, she finally realized that she went to school all this time, and made no money during her intense studying. Nevertheless…how proud she was to be called Dr.!! She ultimately reached her goal.

Now there was another dream manifesting at the same time. There was a young girl who grew up with a hard working dad. In fact, he owned the local ditch digging company in town and any ditch that needed digging went through his company. Day in and day out, the young girl watched her dad closely and knew all the precise steps to digging the perfect ditch. As she got older, she made money on the side by working for her dad and before long she was the head digger. As her father got older, the young professional knew she had to take care of the business she had seen her dad build over the years. When the time came, she was passed the torch and became the first woman to own a ditch digging company in the state!

The point you ask? Well, whether you are a doctor or a ditch digger, you must have proper and adequate training. You can’t be the best overnight. It takes work and determination as well.

To build a successful MLM business, the same applies. You must get trained. Having the right mentor can be the difference between success and failure!

From time to time, I cross paths with people who don’t understand MLM, and they act as if they hate it. The main problem for me is that I LOVE MLM! So, when that happens, I know I have to listen first.

After asking a few questions like “what’s been your previous experience with MLM?” and “do you think network marketing works, in general?” I usually learn that their negative opinion is based off of SOMEONE ELSE’S EXPERIENCE and that they actually do believe network marketing works as long as a few key elements are present. So, in reality, the person’s lack of understanding isn’t even allowing them to think about the industry as a whole. They can only focus on the failure of 1 or 2 of their friends who tried to sell them something that they didn’t want!

As you move forward in your business, remember that network marketing is one of the most respected and highly favored income generating industries. It allows the average person a chance at building a multi-million dollar business from home. It promotes products and services that people love and find value in. It gives us as entrepreneurs an environment to meet and create lifetime relationships with others we wouldn’t have otherwise met.

World Famous Economist and Predictor of Economic Trends, Paul Zane Pilzer has stated that “over the next 10 years, we are poised to create an additional 10 million millionaires.”

This presidential economic advisor also declares that “of all the entrepreneurial opportunities available today, one of the most important is direct selling, also called ‘network marketing’.”

So you see, network marketing, also called MLM (which I’ll discuss the similarities in another post) is an industry where Business is Booming! In fact, it’s truly a Brilliant Compensation!

Success in 10 Steps

One of the most misconceived notions today, is that network marketing doesn’t work. I mean if you ask an average person about networking, they will tell you that “it’s one of those pyramid things.” The truth is that most people don’t know 1 person who has done extremely well and that seems to be the benchmark, who they know. But you on the otherhand have seen your company’s top earners, they’ve presented your business in your hometown. You even may have a picture with a few of them. You believe! So why isn’t it working for you?

One of the major reasons you are not a top earner is because you haven’t learned HOW to become one. C’mon, look at it. Who taught you the actual steps to success in MLM? My bet…No One. So you see, it’s not your fault. You like the company, you like the product, you even like your sponsor. The comp plan makes sense to you but in your mind you’re always thinking “what am I doing wrong?” Then, when you go to your upline for help, you’re sent away with “you’ve just got to talk to more people” or “it’s a numbers game, just keep at it” or “you have got to get better at closing”.

Well, all of those answers put you right back where you were before you even asked for the help to begin with. My goal with this blog is to equip you with the tools and the truthful answers to your questions so you can overcome the failure in your business. So what is it they aren’t teaching you? To be honest, there is a long list that we will attack and go through before it’s all said and done. So let’s start with the most important tool you are missing.

The first thing they failed to teach you about was how to BRAND YOU! You’re what’s missing. MLM is about you, not all that other stuff you fell in love with. Not the product, not the founders, not the team and not the comp plan. MLM is about YOU!
