I want to share with you in this article a couple more Free ways to generate traffic to your website. Free methods are an excellent way to generate leads and sales (if your’re using a funded proposal) that provides funds for you to use in paid marketing efforts.
A tool that I never even thought about using for business purposes is MySpace. I always looked at MySpace as a community of kids or of people in general just looking to chat, send pictures and date. Never had I even heard of any business being transacted through there. So, as I probed more and more, I saw just how many MLM top earners were using it’s social networking aspect as a way to attract prospects. Now on MySpace, if your eyes are opened, you will notice a smart business builder using it every now and then.

The other tool is YouTube. I mean who doesn’t like video? YouTube has grown over the last few years into a video powerhouse hub for amateurs to upload their videos and show them to the world. Savvy MLM’ers have also learned how to use YouTube to magnetize free traffic to them and their business opportunities. The concept with this, as well as with MySpace, is to brand you, not your business. You can make a video about you and your ability to help others in our industry, upload it to YouTube including a link to your affiliate link or blog and wait for the targeted traffic to come in. What an awesome way to reach the world and all for FREE.

These techniques are made available through a platform we call Web 2.0. These are basically social networks that connect people from every corner of the earth to be able to network on any and everything of interest. You find other people who think like you, like what you like and you have the ability to make international friends. This capability is virtually impossible in an offline world. Web 2.0 is truly a phenomenal way to interact with other business owners as well as potential business partners. It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s FREE.

I know that everywhere you turn, you’re seeing that the traditional ways used to build an MLM business just don’t work anymore. Actually, they do work, just not for the average person looking to MLM for it’s benefits. Due to our world evolving, the internet is the medium of choice by most top income earners from various companies. So what is wrong with the traditional way?

With any business, it’s value is determined mainly by it’s assets. In MLM, most marketers fail to realize that they need assets to have any value in their business. Oh, just in case it didn’t cross your mind, as an MLM’er, you ARE a business owner. Don’t forget that! So what is your most valuable asset in MLM you ask? YOUR LIST!
In order to have any value, you must build you an extensive list that belongs to you. When you build MLM the traditional way you OWN nothing! The people that join your business opportunity don’t belong to you, you referred them to your opportunity and get commissioned for it. You don’t own the products…they are the company’s products. You don’t own any of the customers you get either. Since you don’t own the company nor the products, how can you own the customers? Next, you certainly don’t own the company supported website or the marketing tools, and you don’t own the employees. Now, everything I just mentioned are all components of a business and in your business, you have no control over any of them. If your company were to crash and burn, so would your income and your entire business. Not a good position to be in after building it for 3-5 years right?
Food for thought, don’t put all your eggs in 1 basket, especially when you don’t even own the basket. As you build your empire, make sure you make yourself immune to whatever your company decides to do. To build a successful and long-term business, never take your focus off of having the wealth assets under your control.

There are so many people who are looking for FREE advertising, and that’s okay. Free advertising should only be a means to generate additional income to allow you to start using more targeted advertising methods which you must pay for. My favorite form of paid advertising is Newsletter Advertising or Ezine Advertising.

Ezine’s are topic specific email newsletters that are sent to only the people who ask for it. The frequency of the newsletter depends on the publisher; some are daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Most ezines are delivered by mail, but there are some that are delivered through the use of blogs. The major benefit to using ezine ads is that this form of advertising is the most targeted form of advertising as well as the most profitable. The reason is because people who want to know about golf and golf products subscribe to that topic related newsletter ON PURPOSE. Their intent is to stay abreast of new products, how to become better articles and overall an interest in golf. If you have a product or service related to golf, to place an ad in a newsletter read by golf lovers is the best move you can make.

There are three types off ads you can use: solo ads, sponsor ads and classified ads.

Classified ads are the cheapest and the smallest. They are 3-5 lines, run in blocks and receive the least clicks.
Sponsor ads are one step up from classifieds. They are placed at the top of the page (like how a banner is), are 10-15 lines, cost a little more than the classifieds and certainly get more clicks.
• Now, solo ads are the holy grail of ezine marketing. A solo ad goes out alone. That means that the whole email on your ad is on a page by itself. It is the most expensive ad group, but the click through rate can be huge. I mean, this is an ad all about your product/service that goes out to people specifically interested in learning more about that product, service or industry.

Now I offer a small little tip that could save you thousands. A rule of thumb is to not pay more than $4/1000 subscribers on a newsletter list. For example, let’s say you pick a newsletter you would like to advertise in. That newsletter has 75,000 subscribers and it would cost you $50 to run the ad. If you do the math, you would be paying about $.67/subscriber. That is awesome compared to what you would pay for an offline magazine ad right?! Now let’s assume that 10%, or 7500 of that TARGETED group decided to look more at your offer. If 10% of those people wanted to even look deeper, that’s 750 prospects that are now leads in your system to follow up with. Wow! Lastly, let’s go ahead and say that another 10% or 75 people make the decision to buy from you. If you made $20 for each sale, that would be $1500 in sales to you! That is a $1,450 profit from a little $50 ad. In my book, that is going from zero to hero!

If you value your time, you have to do targeted advertising. And since newsletters provide the best form of targeted advertising, it is also the basis of online success.

After stepping back from by business some time ago, and observing what other network marketers were doing, I found 4 mistakes that are consistently made no matter what their primary business is.

1. Trying to convince unqualified prospects. Now this is just a no-no. No matter how good you are at sales, you can not make someone see something that they do not see on their own. Now it is true that if you have some skills, you can get them closed and have them sign-up. The problem is that this is network marketing and not a corporation. Making a one-time sale works in some industries, but when recruiting, just getting the prospect to sign-up may be the last action they take which means a one-time commission and then they end up on your attrition list. Not the best plan if your goal is to build an organization.
2. Leading with their business opportunity. The truth of the matter here is that nobody cares about your business opportunity. There are hundreds of opportunities that are “taking the industry by storm”. Prospects are interested in how a particular business can help them solve a problem that exists in their world. It doesn’t usually matter whether it is vitamins or energy drinks. It comes down to WHO is going to train them and show them a system to help them reach their goals.
3. Spending precious lead generating time on follow-ups that are not interested. I have come to realize that when it comes to network marketing, most distributors seem to lose the value of their time. In this business your time is what you make of it. If you spend the majority of it following up with people who don’t return calls, don’t understand the business and who think everything is a pyramid scam, then precious time is being wasted. Alternatively, a seasoned networker knows that time is maximized by continuing to look for prospects who are also looking for you…at all times. Your lead generator should always be the main focus.
4. Attempting to build the business by positioning a third party as the expert. I want to be clear with this mistake. Edification is a good thing. But positioning yourself as an apprentice to someone else is detrimental. If all you talk about is Mr. Superstar, then your prospect will want to work with him. However, if you are able to demonstrate that you are in fact the professional, but then edify and utilize the power of a 3-way with your mentor, that is ok. I’m sure you have seen it too…where good people talk so much about someone else ALL THE TIME that they lose the respect and credibility for themselves. You must avoid this pitfall by becoming a student of your craft. Study and learn so that you are knowledgeable to help someone else.

Work to automate your process so that you can filter out and avoid the above mistakes and alow you to focus on the important issues like marketing to generate more leads and building rapport with those who raise their hands wanting more information.

There are thousands of networkers who are involved in major offline companies looking to grow their mlm business online. Not too long ago, I was one of them. Why? Because the traditional offline methods just aren’t as effective as they used to be years ago. If you want to grow your business online, keep this in mind: “keep it simple”. The more complicated you make your system, the harder it will be for your team to duplicate.

The key to bringing your mlm business online is having a system. Your system should be simple to implement and easy to take part in day in and day out for your team members. Most network marketers still work full-time jobs and only have a few hours a day to work their businesses. Create a system that even part-timers can use and get results.

The components that must be present, through my experience, for a highly effective system are as follows: a lead capture page, an auto-responder follow up series and a sales page that is centered around your mlm business.

Now, before you pass this on to your team, make sure you test it first. The last thing you want to do is think something works, tell everybody about it, and then there are glitches. So test, test, test! Don’t stop until you have established some measurable results and statistics. The statistics that are most important to us as online marketers are the traffic to lead ratio and the lead to sign up ratio. Some people are hesitant to bring their mlm business online, so be in a position to show proof that it can work!

Once you are cool with the results during the test phase, it’s time to develop your website replication so that others on your team can use the same system you are with the goal of producing similar results as long as the follow what you did. The best way to replicate your site is by researching and using a solid website replication software application.

At this point, you are ready to assess progress and assist your team with what is needed to increase productivity and results. As long as you remember the 3 major components needed to have a successful mlm business online, you will be just fine!

You may not see the crucial difference between business opportunity seekers and business opportunity buyers at first glance. But by the end of our discussion, you will truly see the huge disparity.

If you really look at it, these two categories describe types of leads, and we all know that having leads are vital to our business in network marketing. The problem most networkers face today is how to find and generate enough of them. Believe it or not, the majority of upline leaders at one point or another encourage you to buy leads…and I was one of them! See, when you don’t have enough people to talk to, you feel that your last resort is to buy them. So that’s what happens most of the time.

Once you go through the pruning process of what company to purchase your leads from and you feel pretty good about the quality of MLM leads you think you’re gonna get, you make the purchase. But what category of people are you purchasing? You are buying names of Business Opportunity Seekers! And what do seekers do? They seek! That’s it that’s all. These are the people that are at home or work, on the internet, just “surfing around” seeing what’s out there. They generally have no interest in really starting a business, they are just “looking”. Does any of this sound familiar? That’s why when you call, most of the time, they never call back, they didn’t know it “costs” anything, and they question everything you say and probably believe everything is a scam. If cold calling leads is part of your business model, soon you will be quitting your company and dropping out because you will run out of money faster than you can recruit any of these leads!

But, what if you could find an abundance of Business Opportunity Buyers? Already you have a lead with a totally different mindset. This person is actively looking to start a business. No convincing needed and no 30 follow-up calls! How do you know that you have a buyer as opposed to a seeker? Well remember a seeker is always looking for FREE, but a buyer understands that you must pay for something. Let’s say you had a funded proposal that showed networkers “how-to” do something…generate leads on the internet, utilize email marketing to build rapport, find effective ways to market, etc. You advertised this proposal and for someone to learn what you are teaching, they had to pay like $35 bucks. So here comes a buyer, really looking for ways to help their business, and they see your ad and buy your ebook. Isn’t this a better field to play on? I mean, you just made $35 and you didn’t have to beg them for 2 weeks to take a look at it. Someone actually PAID YOU to become a lead instead of the other way around. You just saved yourself a ton of time and money.

Once you get good at locating buyers, you will be making money whether they join your business opportunity or not, and this is the key to surviving and having mlm success.

How to get FREE MLM Traffic!

No matter what MLM business you are in, most people utilizing the internet to build their business are always searching for FREE ways to generate MLM traffic. So, I will share with you the best way to achieve that…Article Marketing.

Article Marketing solves the 2 most major problems internet network marketers face: Money and Leads. With a lack in either of these two areas, your business suffers. By writing articles, you help to teach someone interested in your topic something and it costs you nothing to do it. With several articles floating in cyberspace, the money and leads problems are eliminated.

Article marketing is the process of writing valuable content articles and submitting them to the article directories. Each article you write contains a resource box which tells info about you and provides a link to the site of your choice. The article directories publish your articles for the world to see and people can click on your provided link for more info. Voila! FREE MLM traffic now goes to your site.

Now, there are two types of FREE MLM traffic you can generate with articles: search engine traffic and viral traffic.

Organic search engine traffic is obtained through using keywords in your articles. When the search engines “spider” for new content, if your article has keywords that match what users are searching for, the search engine attaches your article to that keyword. Therefore, when a user searches that particular keyword, your article shows up on the search page. That provides MLM traffic and you didn’t pay a dime!

Viral traffic is what’s really cool about this method. Remember the resource box? Well, other authors may find your article useful and decide to use it to add content to THEIR site for their customers to see. When that happens, the author MUST keep your resource box intact. That means that someone can post your article on their site, but since your resource box is attached, interested readers will click the link you provided in the resource box. Before long, this viral use of your article by other people, create viral traffic to your site. And again, mlm traffic you paid zero, zip, zilch for!!

Article Marketing is my favorite free method to generate mlm traffic and it helps to establish you as the expert in the topic of your choice. That happens to be a pretty stable foundation; your articles will be in cyberspace forever and ever for others to see and/or use.

If so, you are not alone. Thousands of network marketers are being sold a dream, with no real map on how to get there. So let’s talk about some of the dynamics here.

1. Your successful upline knows how difficult it is to do what they are telling you to do. However, they also know that the average person never achieves MLM success and only recruits about 2.7 people before quitting. So, in a dire need to get something out of you before you quit, they have you scour your names lists of people you know to help THEM out. See, they have the leverage that is so often talked about.

2. It’s a numbers game they say. Well they are right, but they aren’t giving it to you the way they should. Your upline says you have to go through let’s say 99 no’s to get that 1 yes. So you go on trying to build a business (while probably still working full-time) attempting to talk to hundreds and hundreds of people a day. All for just 2-3 sign-ups after 6-8 months? Not feasible is it? The true numbers are this: 90% of ALL people hate to be sold. So if you are approaching people in a quest to have MLM success, you are starting out on the losing end!

3. Your efforts and your enthusiasm simply aren’t duplicable and neither is your upline’s. Just because your sponsor uses a system and recruits 10 people in 10 months, doesn’t mean you will. You are not him. You don’t sound like him nor do you act like him. You are you. Whatever works best for you is what you should go with, even if the “team” isn’t doing it. The only thing that is duplicable for MLM success is the marketing system. That’s it. If you don’t have one of those, now is the time to start on that road to locating one.

All in all, be yourself. Be passionate about your business, but be the commander of your own ship. You got involved in the network marketing industry because you knew it could afford you the life you desire. You just have some learning and some tweaking to do. It won’t be overnight that you gain your success, but your desire for the answers will allow you to end up with a simple process that you can teach and show others how to duplicate with results that count.

We’ve all seen them. You know, the super charged heavy hitter that gets on stage motivating you to join? Well EVERY network marketing company has a handful and their stories are the only success stories you know of!

The problem here is that when you’ve got a group of people in the room or on the phone who want to make more money, have a better life spend more time with family, etc and they have already realized that working paycheck to paycheck is not a good vehicle to reach the goal, their emotional state is heightened. The hype-artist starts to speak about his success and that money was just coming in from places he didn’t even know about. The group gets excited and they want to try something new and make a lot of money doing it. So they buy-in.

Now, that state of excitement only lasts about 24-48 hours before the new recruit realizes that the business is going to take more work than the heavy-hitter actually said. They sit down at their home computer and begin to read the “marketing plan” (if there is one). Step 1: buy leads. Step 2: cold call those leads and set up about a 2-4 hr window each day to be successful. Step 3: follow-up over and over with the leads. Step 4: Make a list of your friends and family. Step 5: Make appointments with them and get your sponsor on the phone with them. Step 6: Invite them to a live meeting or phone conference. Step 7: If you have a hard time with this, just keep going, don’t give up. Your “Yes” is around the corner.
Before you know it, your bank account is drained from trying to keep up with the leads to talk to, you are sick and tired of being rejected over and over by people who said they wanted a business, you are sacrificing time with family to “get your business started right”, your friends and family don’t answer your calls anymore, and no results are really being produced. You see, all that hype made you do something that they said was easy. You wasted good hard-earned money and your up-line didn’t even flinch. Once you figured out on your own that you hated being in that position, you next option was to quit. Or, maybe it was to make it work.

If you’ve decided that this business can work, let me share with you that YOU ARE Right! It can. There is a way to be successful and not have to do any of the previously mentioned steps. In fact, this way is the complete opposite. The traditional way suggests that you approach people with what you have and sell them on why they can’t live without it. But the modern-day method attracts people who want what you have to you. Much easier already!
So, if you still desire to retire early, take those family vacations and not have to worry about the bills ever again, learn how to attract prospects who will pay you, whether they join your primary business or not. Only work with people who want to work with you and never HAVE to call another lead again.

What’s The Big Deal About Blogs?

Having a blog or website that you can control opens up the door of opportunity for your business online. So, let’s go through some basics first…

* Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for the general public
* A blog is a website in which items are posted on a regular basis.
* A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links.
* An online journal.
* A blogger is someone who owns or operates a blog and blogging is considered updating or writing posts on your blog

When you set up a blog for yourself you’re instantly adding to the professionalism of you and your business. Establishing yourself as an expert and authoritative figure is crucial to success in any industry. Having your own online presence with your own customized website that you have control over will help accomplish this.

The most important benefit, by far, of having your own blog is the ability to build an opt-in list. An opt-in list is built when people who visit your blog submit (opt-in) their name and email address in exchange for something that will benefit them. In most cases it’s a free newsletter or special report containing high-quality information that is of great interest to the visitor.
