Contrary to what MOST people believe, there is great value in many free online groups and communities.  However, they must be accessed and utilized properly.

Everyday, I see people getting on social media making a mockery of themselves as well as our industry because they simply do NOT and maybe in other cases WILL not use the ethics required to achieve results.  Why?  I don’t KNOW!

OMG!! This is soo NOT hott my friends..

Listen, I am a firm believer in a spamless environment. Meaning that I do my part by only sending emails to people who have either joined my mailing list or joined any of my personal groups on their own.

But what I am noticing more and more is the trend of people on my list sending me back emails for their biz opps and such.

Here’s the thing guys, remember this is a relationship business, at it’s finest. If YOU decide to go to someone’s website and opt in for more info, you are in turn agreeing to receive information from them. And that’s cool! But that action does not mean you now have the liberty to send them back your info, on your business. Connecting with the list owner to ask questions about their services or trainings or products is normal, you’re on their list. But reversing that to benefit you, well that’s not so cool!

The same way you opted in to a site, give others that same choice, just out of respect. Now I know some people are doing reverse marketing and all that stuff, but I want you to really consider this.

You are a professional. You only want to work with people who want to work with you. The person whose site you chose to opt into had to market and do some work for you to first off see it and secondly like it enough to opt in. Is it really fair for you to then take that persons private email address and just misuse it without their permission? Really? Did they use yours without your permission? How would you feel if people came to your site and you were really working your butt off to provide valuable content and then they just turned around and blatantly spammed you?

C’mon guys! Let’s be on top of our game. If you want to start sending people emails, who are NOT on YOUR list, at least be considerate enough to send one email asking their permission to use it first. Oh, and don’t be salty if they say no…it’s their option!! Don’t say you are getting their emails and so you want to send them yours. NO NO NO my friend. You are getting their emails because YOU asked to get them. No one HAS to read your messages simply because you read theirs. Just because you eat McDonald’s, are you at their corporate office talking about since you eat their food, they should eat yours, of course not!

If you do what I mentioned above, not only would you come off as a respectful professional, but one who is considerate enough to ask. You are dealing with people at all times. And people only do business with others they know, LIKE and trust.

So as you market and build your business, do it in a way that attracts the leaders you want to you and not repel them and allow people to like you. Simply get yourself a lead capture page with value added content and ask people to check out your content by marketing..not by reverse spamming!

If you just do the little things like this, the butterfly effect will start to take form and changes for the better will compound in your business right before your eyes!

As I speak to more and more people, there seems to be a common theme. Not really knowinghow to get leads.

To be honest, you are going to have to get good at this, at least in phases. If you never learn how to generate leads, then you will always struggle in your business to make money. It’s the same as having a brick and mortar store where you cant seem to get anyone to walk through your front door. If you keep paying your overhead with the absence of sales, you will soon be out of business.

If you are using social media like me to get leads, that’s a great thing, but it takes time. You have to consistently provide value to people for them to follow you or listen to you. But there is something you can do in the mean time.

Adding a list builder to your overall strategy can help. For one, you can email a list of people looking for your offer every three days. Secondly, you can test your different headlines and email copy and start to improve your copywriting skills. Another skill you must hone in on for a successful internet marketing career.

That’s exactly what I do.
