What Can A Millionaire Do For You?

While in Dallas, TX at the 2010 More Heart Than Talent conference, I had the opportunity to meet several online marketers, offline marketers..who are mainly all network marketers building organizations and thriving sales forces.
The key factor is that while most attend events and never get to meet or connect with the “top earners”…I make it a point to..in a unique way..and not by using the usual groupie style I’ve seen far too often.
In this particular case I want to share a story with you that I will probably never forget….
I was at the MLM Lead System Pro table, where I had the distinct privilege of offering/selling my book: The Power of Leadership. After making sales and talking to several people, this one guy in a baseball cap and a cool biker jacket walked up to the table.
He was peeking through my book when I noticed he didn’t have on a name tag for me to literally use his name to say hello and introduce myself. SO instead, I said, “Hey there, I’m Tracey Walker and you are?” And he very politely held up the book and said “Mark Hoverson…is this You?” It was amazing how fast we got into dialogue mode.
I said to him that yes that was me on the cover and I clearly remember him saying “Cool..how much is it?” I said “$25 and it’s yours, I’ll even autograph it for you! He smiled and said cool, then went to pull out his credit card.
Now there was a challenge on the horizon..I didn’t have a credit card machine!! Shoot!
So I said to him that he had to pay cash..and he said he didn’t have cash. He asked why I didn’t have a merchant account and I explained to him that me being at this table was certainly not planned so I didn’t bring my machine. He gave me that look..you know…the one that said..ok, well what are you going to do about this?
I quickly looked around…found an order form for MLSP, and asked him to fill out the credit card portion of the form. I decided I could use that to process his card on my own, using my account once I got back to the computer. He agreed and BOOM…I had sold the book! Upon him taking the book in his hand..he said to me “never make the buyer work too hard.” My mind thought…”Got It!”
So what is the point here? Well after that exchange, we took a couple of pictures, chatted a little more and it hit me…
Here was a documented millionaire, looking just as normal as can be…and I didn’t even realize who it was initially. And not only did he take the time to pick up and check out the book, but he bought it as if he could learn something from me! Fascinating! But here’s is the moral of the story. If he had given me cash, as I asked and required of everyone else, I wouldn’t have been able to learn something from him. But because thinking outside the box was an option, and I found a way to use the form of payment that worked best for him..he shared with me a principle that I knew..but never really thought too much about.
Then as the night went on, everyone went to dinner and when we returned, many went to hang out at the bar. I stepped inside and noticed my friend Mark from earlier. He instantly smiled, we said wussup and he asked, “Did I buy your book earlier? And I replied, “Your certainly did.” His response, “Good, because you are so cool and I love working with cool people!” And then we took the picture you see in this post.
So the question asked in the title of this post was what can a millionaire do for you? And as far as I am concerned, the answer is…work with you! See, all you have to do is find and get to know people who have what you want and kick it with them. But you can’t be a half-asser or a bull-crapper. You have to display your value, and that you are open yet taking serious action steps to attaining all your goals.
No book in Dallas means no lesson from Mark. No lesson from Mark means no contact was made. No contact made means he can’t work with someone cool like me!
So get out there, do the things you know will make you wealthy and ask no questions of those who agree to guide you…simply listen, learn and do! Thanks Mark!

Hi Tracey, Just going through the videos, fired me up. If you can do it then i can learn. Of course i can do it. Like my brother Dwayne said i live in the UK and it feels like we are left behind. Will you be coming over soon in the future? Stay blessed.
Tracey, I compliment you on your leadership. You surround yourself with millionaires, that is the way to go. We always can learn more abd be more prosperous. Didn't know that you have a book =) I'll definitely read it.

Hey Tracey
I came across your blog via another guys blog Matthew Strout.
I have heard your name mentioned before and as I like to see what the successful are doing I thought it was about time I passed by and took a peak.
Nice blog, I love what you have done with your space.
This post stuck out to me because of the title. I have recently had the pleasure of learning from some very successful people in the industry, 6-7 figure earners. Not ground breaking stuff, more just focusing the mind to actually get stuff done. These little lessons which I have picked up from these people has made the most impact in my growing business. Which is why I can kind of relate to this post.
As I live in the UK it is hard to get out to the States for these great seminars. This however will change as it is a goal of mine to meet you successful people face to face and network a little.
Anyway, great post.
Dwayne
This is a cool post I learned a lot here… Thanks Tracy

very cool story Tracey. Cool people like you seems to have Jedi communication power. There were only a few conversation exchanged in your post but yet it says so much.
Now, let me “get in your business” and ask what you and Mark are going to work together on?
Go ahead miss Tracey! No one even had to tell me who's doing the next MLSP call,
as soon as I got the email, I knew right away. Go get em boo!
Tracey, that is so cool! How nice to be in your postion, at least I get to learn from you!
Hi Tracey,
Another good lesson learned, thanks for sharing. That's why it's so important to get to these live events when we are able to.
Awesome I liked your face book comment about the learning curve I was about to write a blog post this AM about it LOL.
What a wonderful story! This is one example of why you are successful. Your quick thinking to promptly getting the credit card form and maintaining style and composure to close the deal speak volumes to me. I am so glad I found you. I enjoy folowwing you. Thanks, Pam
Tracy,
What a great example of getting out of the box and connecting I love your post!
Thanks,
Paul Blake
This is a great story, as it is so honest. I like stuff like this. You definitely rock Tracey! Lesson to learn is that when we put ourselves on line, get out of our comfort zone, and we do not afraid to be involved, we get more situations, which eventually make who we are. If we just sit in our homes behind the close doors, we lose the sight of real life. And this is very dangerous.
Tracey Awesome story, Mark Is an awesome guy, I was right there when you sold him the book pretty cool..
Great story Tracey! Thanks for sharing. It's amazing what we can achieve when we Listen, Learn and Do!
What a cool story Tracey, thanks for sharing that! You always have a way of providing information/motivation exactly when it's needed
Tracey,
It always seems to be the littlest things that we learn from the big dawgs. I love visiting your blog for ideas, in fact when I first started blogging, yours was quite the inspiration for my own. Thanks!

Wow what a great story Tracy. I think there is a lot we can all learn from this interaction no matter what level of marketing we are at. Thanks for sharing. Do you sell your book online? Where can I find it? Are you going on the Cruise?
